Kaverii Tees unisex t-shirt size chart with chest length and sleeve measurements

Unisex T-Shirt Size Guide: How to Get the Perfect Fit (True-to-Size vs Oversized)

For a true-to-size fit in a Kaverii Tees unisex t-shirt, order the same size you'd normally wear in a men's tee. For a relaxed, oversized look, size up by one. Women typically get a comfortable regular fit by sizing down one from their usual women's size. The chart below gives you exact chest, length, and sleeve measurements for every size, S through 3XL, so you can check against a shirt you already own before you order.

What Does "Unisex Sizing" Actually Mean?

Unisex sizing is built around a single, boxier block that fits a wide range of bodies rather than separate men's and women's cuts. It runs roomier through the body than a fitted women's tee and about the same as, or slightly relaxed compared to, a standard men's tee. Men usually wear their normal size, women often go down one size for a fitted look and keep their usual size for something more relaxed.

Every Kaverii tee is made from 100% ring-spun Comfort Colors cotton, garment-dyed and pre-shrunk, cut in a unisex relaxed fit, and sized in US/EU sizing (not Asian sizing, which tends to run smaller).

Kaverii Tees Size Chart: Chest, Length, and Sleeve by Size

These are the actual garment measurements we use, taken with the shirt laid flat. The chest number is measured armpit to armpit, so double it if you're comparing to a body chest measurement taken with a tape measure around yourself.

Size Length (in) Chest, laid flat (in) Sleeve (in)
S 27.75 19.00 8.75
M 28.75 21.00 9.00
L 29.50 22.75 9.25
XL 30.50 24.75 9.50
2XL 31.50 26.50 9.75
3XL 32.50 28.50 10.00

Note: manual measurement can vary by 1 to 3 cm. Most designs run S to 3XL, and several, including our newest arrivals, go up to 4XL.

Should You Order True-to-Size or Size Up for an Oversized Fit?

Order your usual size for a true-to-size fit. That gives you a clean, classic tee shape, close to the body without being tight, with about 2 to 4 inches of ease across the chest depending on size.

Size up by one for an oversized fit. A size up adds roughly 2 more inches of chest room and about an inch of extra length, which is what gives that dropped-shoulder, streetwear silhouette without the shirt turning into a dress. Sizing up two sizes usually goes too far for most body types and starts to swallow the graphic along with the shoulders.

If you're stuck between a true-to-size and an oversized look, true-to-size is the safer first order since you can always size up next time once you know how the fabric wears in.

How Do I Measure Myself for the Right Size?

Grab a shirt you already own and love the fit of, lay it flat, and compare it to the chart above using these three measurements.

  1. Length: from the highest point next to the neckline, straight down to the bottom hem.
  2. Chest: shirt laid flat and smooth, measured from one armpit straight across to the other.
  3. Sleeve: from the shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve, with the sleeve kept flat and straight.

No shirt on hand to compare? Wrap a tape measure around the fullest part of your chest, under your arms, without pulling it tight, then halve that number and match it to the "chest, laid flat" column above. ShirtSpace's sizing guide walks through the same body-measurement method if you want a second reference point.

Do Kaverii Tees Run True to Size?

Yes. Our tees are cut from pre-shrunk, garment-dyed, 100% ring-spun Comfort Colors cotton, so the measurements in the chart above are what you get after the first wash too, not before it. Garment-dyeing also gives the fabric its soft, slightly worn-in feel from the first wear, rather than a stiff, straight-off-the-press feel that loosens up over time and throws off the fit. If you've read our post on why quality tees are always worth it, this is the fabric side of that argument: a shirt that's sized accurately on day one stays sized accurately on day one hundred.

What If I'm Between Two Sizes?

Check the chest measurement first. It moves in roughly 2 inch jumps between sizes, which is the biggest swing size to size, so it's the number most likely to decide comfort. If your chest measurement lands closer to the smaller size, take that size for true-to-size, or the larger size if you want room to layer a jacket or hoodie over it. If you're exactly between two chest measurements, go with the smaller size for a fitted look and the larger size for anything you plan to wear oversized or tucked loosely.

Does a Unisex Tee Fit Men and Women the Same Way?

Not quite, even on the same size chart. Men generally get a true-to-size fit by ordering their normal tee size, since the unisex block is cut close to a standard men's tee through the shoulders and chest. Women usually get a fitted, flattering result by ordering one size down from their usual women's size, since unisex sizing skips the tapered waist of a women's cut and runs boxier at the same number. Neither is "wrong," it's just two different starting points that land on the same chart, so use the fit you're going for (fitted vs relaxed) to decide, not just the label on your closet's other shirts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do unisex t-shirts run big or small?

Unisex tees run roughly true to a standard men's size and larger than a fitted women's size. If you normally wear a women's medium, a unisex small will usually feel closer to your regular fit.

Should I size up in a unisex t-shirt?

Size up by one size if you want a relaxed, oversized silhouette. Stay true-to-size if you want a classic, closer fit. Sizing up more than one size usually drops the shoulder seams too far down the arm.

Are Kaverii Tees pre-shrunk?

Yes. Every tee is garment-dyed and pre-shrunk before it ships, so the measurements on the size chart hold up after washing, not just out of the bag.

What's the difference between chest measurement and body chest size?

The chart's chest number is the garment laid flat and measured armpit to armpit, so it's roughly half your actual body chest circumference. Double the chart number to compare it to a tape measure reading taken around your body.

Do all Kaverii Tees designs come in the same sizes?

Most run S to 3XL. Several, including our newest arrivals, extend up to 4XL. Check the size options on each product page to confirm before ordering.
